Crochet necklace #2
This necklace was finished about a week ago – whoops, with everything else that has been going on I forgot to post it! It’s made following the same patterns as crochet necklace #1, but this time I’ve used some Lincraft Bamboozle yarn (left over from crocheting Ric-Rac’s red boteh scarf) which has given a much nicer result in my opinion.
The navy and white buttons come from one of my local op-shops.
Originally I had sewed the flower onto the necklace, but then unpicked it (my favourite sewing tool is my unpicker – well, maybe it’s not my favourite, but it’s the most used of my sewing tools) and sewed a brooch back on instead. This way it can be moved around or just worn as a brooch. I can make one of these necklace/brooch combinations in under an hour. Shall I do a few more?
Ohhhh, I really do like this. I must put this on my to – do list. 🙂
This is really nice-looking. Sometimes I’m not a huge fan of crochet jewelry, but yours is done really well! So cute, and I love the yarn you used!
I keep forgetting you are heading into fall/winter. So the extra warmth aound your neck might be nice, I bet. Very pretty.
Much to warm for our weather, we a sunny 86 F (30 c)
I love it!!! – I want to make one – I’ve got a craft show that I am demonstrating at coming up – and we are trying to promote our crochet classes (and no I’m not teaching – I am still a beginner) I want to wear one to get some of the younger people interested – I hope it isn’t hard!!
this is beautiful and i love the colour too.
Really sweet!!!

Awesome as usual Lara, how are you coping with being back at work? – I think I have to win Lotto and not go to work.
You’ve had me thinking about FLOWERS AS JEWELLERY all weekend…. I can’t wear metal against my skin. Can’t (or won’t) crochet, but you’ve inspired me to make some FABRIC flowers. (Now all I need is a few days away with a needle and thread so I’ll have time to do it….!!)
This turned out great. I love red! Do you find that the weight of the flower makes it come forward on your neck? I made one of these a few weeks ago as my first ever crochet project. I find the flower tends to slide from the side of my neck down to the front. I was thinking that it might work to have the flower be the clasp then when it turns then the button from the back won’t show because it would button in the center of the flower. I just reread what you wrote and maybe this is what you were already saying.
