Christmas Capes
Four more gifts done – capes for the little kids. Their initial on one side:
and a crown on the other.
Clare had a lovely time choosing which colours were best for which child (and yes, she chose two shades of pink for herself). I used a tutorial from puking pastilles to help me make them.
I am now certain that there is no way I’ll ever sew to sell – I really dislike making things in a production line, and don’t like sewing under pressure. The capes are all made from polycotton, and sewing and ironing fabric with a relatively high polyester content reminds me why I prefer to sew 100% cotton. Now I’ve only two presents left to make, and the clock is ticking . . . I’m glad I started Christmas sewing weeks ago.
By the way, Jodie over at Ric Rac has the most adorable 100th post giveaway – check it out!
these are adorable, i just love them!
oh my! How cute!!!
With friendship,
Lisa
Oh I saw these and had already bookmarked this tutorial for my nephews birthday next year….not too often you find sewing for boys! They look great btw…my little one might need one too!
Just found your blog from the handmade holidays fliker group. The capes are beautiful & will be appreciated by all. I too have a Clare, who is my biggest helper. Have a wonderful holiday.
