Chestnut Hill Bag
Another Christmas present completed! The Chestnut Hill Bag, made from Joel Dewberry fabric. It is so handy when fabrics come ready-coordinated for you!
The pattern is Vogue 7812 – which may now be out of print. I’ve used this pattern before, and the resulting bags are a nice size and shape. Here’s the inside:
Magnetic catch closure; internal zip pocket on one side; patch pocket and key fob on the other.
I added purse/bag feet and used fast-to-fuse to make a sturdier bag base.
As usual, the exterior has interfacing and pellon to provide structure, while maintaining a soft appearance. The silver rings on the handles add a nice touch too.
I think I’m finally on the homeward stretch with holiday sewing – but there’s still lots more to do!
I have just started reading your blog, I discovered it thru Nicole Mallalieu, and I am just so impressed!! I can’t help but wonder how you manage to get it all done with small children! Well done!
That bag is gorgeous, I just love the fabric that you’ve used!!!
LOVE this bag! I am going to see if they still have this pattern… 🙂
You use the nicest fabrics! Gorgeous Dewberry! The bags you make are so well-designed and so pretty. Glad you visited my blog and entered the drawing so I could get to know you too!

Whoa! You’re already on the home stretch of your holiday sewing? I am impressed! This bag is beautiful, as always. I have some of this Chestnut Hill fabric too and have been trying to decide what to do with it. It’s a really nice subtle color combination — looks fabulous on your bag!
