Crinoid bags
Hubby thinks that the print on these bags look like crinoids.
I thought they looked more like nerve synapses.
The fabric is from – you guessed it – Ikea. The pattern is the pleated_tote by artsy crafty babe. Thanks so much! There are interior pockets on one side and a key fob. Each bag has a contrasting lining and pocket. I should have taken some photos of the inside, I suppose!
Two are destined to be thank-you gifts for Miss Clare’s kinder teachers. There are only another four weeks or so of kinder left! The other is a Christmas present for a close friend – who luckily does not read this blog.
But we’re not sure which bag to give to which person!
We went to Miss Clare’s primary school today to try on and order uniforms for next year – she started prep orientation last week – I can’t quite believe that my little girl will be a schoolgirl so soon! She looked so adorable in her uniform – and I felt very emotional.
OooH what lucky kindy teachers-those bags are seriously wonderful!
Wow – these look great! I like the ‘nerve synapse’ analogy. I’m not sure though what I like more – your great eye for changing material into object, or the beautiful tablecloth? in the background. Does this have a story?
Thanks! Bron, it’s a bedspread in the background. It belonged to my Nanna (who died a couple of years ago at the age of 90) but I don’t know much more than that! I love it.
Hi Lara – It has been lovely to meet you also! I was just reading Jodie’s blog Ric Rac and saw your fabbo scarf (generous girl!) Looking through your ‘archives’ (that term sounds like an old squeaking filing cabinet) I also found your other scarf – lovely! Can I ask where did you get the magazine from (Interweave Crochet)? Borders? (I also noticed your Nanna’s bedspread again – I love it too!)
Lovely bags- the teachers will feel so seasonal. well done!
I like ’em! Good old Ikea.
Gorgeous fabric!!! The bags look great and I’m sure that they’ll be well loved by their new owners at xmas time.
Hi Lara, I just adore the red and white combo
These are adorable. -kb
