Fabric mail again

Oh, that exchange rate – it does dangerous things to my credit card!  The latest arrival from Z and S Fabrics:

These are all from Anna Maria Horner’s Chocolate Lollipop range.  Aren’t they beautiful!

The fabrics are superb quality.  I’m really looking forward to making a few things from these!  Miss Clare has put in an order for something from the “rainbow” striped fabric and the two smaller florals.  I bought a yard of each, and am beginning to think I should have bought more.

Door stop

The pattern for this door stop is from Lotta Jansdotter’s book Simple Sewing.  I needed some fast sewing therapy – this fit the bill, and it’s useful!

It was super-quick to make.  I reduced the pattern pieces to 80% of the original, but they could probably have been made smaller again.  It took loads of dried beans to fill!  Probably a couple of kilos (I used up the ones that have been sitting at the back of the cupboard for years, since I figured if they’d been there that long, we obviously don’t cook with dried beans).  And as you can tell, I’m still going using that Ikea fabric!
