the loom
Mum found this hiding in the top of her linen closet. I barely remembered it. Clare was very excited to find it and wanted it put together straight away.
It’s “the Loom”. Now that it is put together and some weaving commenced, I can see why it was in the top of the linen closet with lurid pink yarn still wound around the shuttle.
This will take forever. Will I ever use it? I might get the hang of it and produce a nice piece of fabric to use in a bag. Or I might not.
Oh Yikes! I am having flashbacks from my textiles class in college! I hated hated hated the loom…everything else textiles I loved…dying fabric, stamping fabric, making fabric, but the loom is a torturous device….although I have never felt such a sense of satisfaction when I got that piece finished!
Hmmm. I ‘ve never used a loom, but have always wanted to try. Is it that difficult or does it just take a lot of time?
My husband says things like art/crafts/cooking come easy for me so I may not be one to guage its difficulty, but I have a bit of artistic talent and it took abut an hour to make around one inch, and that was about a foot wide. I would say that took a ton of time.
