Tie one on – Local Pride
Here is my submission to the July/August Tie One On apron collection – the theme is Local Pride!
And in close-up:
Local pride? Although it may at first seem a little obscure – remember, I’m from Melbourne, Australia. Where the predominate choice of colour for clothing is black. Therefore, a black apron! Made from stretch suede with cornelli fabric edging. No proper pattern used, but guidance obtained from Amy Butler’s book In Stitches.
Well done! Tres Melbourne, indeed! It’s a VERY (understatedly) STYLISH apron!
My sister (four years older) told me she thinks she’s “too old to wear black” the other day (skin tones changing, and all that…). Looks like I’m headed for an identity crisis AND a culture-crisis in a few year’s time. Where would a Melbourne gal be without her black?
I have never thought of having a black apron! How fantastic of you!
I got it straight away – very Melbourne Lara. It is very stylish and a great job without a pattern.
That is brilliant and so good taste! here in the UK it feels like Autumn so I’ve dug out the Winter clothing. It felt sooo comfy being back in black trousers and a Richie Blackmore sweatshirt. This apron would be brill with them. What is the Tie One On apron thing about?
Love it! The fabric you used for the edge is gorgeous … really finishes it off nicely. Have fun wearing it!
Thanks all! Melanie, I’ve added links to the Tie One On blog – it’s basically just a fun thing for those of us that like aprons!
Love it! Especially the bottom.
And love Melbourne, and black clothes! =)
