Larger Than Life bag progress
I’ve crocheted all twelve squares for the Interweave Crochet Larger than Life bag, and since taking this photo I’ve even sewn in all the ends.
Now to block the squares, then decide which ones to put on which side! I’m also wondering what colour to border and join them with, and do the sides and base. The yarns are mostly ones that I “borrowed” from my mother’s stash, so are a real mixture of whatever we had. Luckily there is plenty of inspiration on the blogs – there is even this and this crochet-along for the bag!
And how did I find the time to finish these squares? The girls and I have just spend five days in country Victoria staying with my parents. Lots of tender loving care for all of us, and the chance to just sit and do some crochet while my parents helped with the girls. I’ve been having lots of breastfeeding hassles so it was lovely to rest and be looked after – I’m sure that it has helped. Back to the breastfeeding support clinic again on Thursday – so another chance possibly to sit and crochet while Miss Stella sleeps between feeds! Maybe I’ll do some more crocheted flowers:
these will be turned into brooches. The patterns are from various places on the internet (I googled “crochet flower pattern”) and a couple are my own creations.
I have been wanting to do some granny squares, but I just don’t have the skill or knowledge- yet! The two scarves I crocheted recently aren’t perfect and I picked some fuzzy (forgiving) yarn for them, so I think I will have to practice lots more before I am ready for any squares or flowers like your beautiful ones!
I just love your crocheted flowers!!!!! I have been wanting to learn to crochet just for that purpose but still have never found the time. But these are trully lovely!!
Thank you for linking to my blog! Your squares are great, can’t wait to see how you choose to put them together. And the flowers are really cute, I haven’t made any of those in a long time.
