Birthday Bags
My to-do list is very long at the moment. Two of the items on it were tote bags to give to two special children for their birthday (both birthdays are long since passed – I am very behind).
The one on the left is for a five-year old; the one on the right for her seven-year old brother. Both are fully lined and are probably reversible. Here’s hoping that they like them! I did boxed corners for both, and used the library tote instructions in the The Crafter’s Companion as a bit of a guide for constructing the bags. Quick and simple (thank goodness).
Wow… what a great gift… I love them….. would you share the pattern??
luv Abby
Great pattern lara, and you have the best excuse for a long to-do list – some of us just have…….ummmm….ebay…etsy…internet browsing…blog catch-ups…
Righto – off to sew !
Thanks ladies! I don’t actually have a proper pattern to share – I just cut out two rectangles of outer fabric, two of lining, size determined by the amount of fabric that I had! Handles were from the left-over fabric, so that determined the width. Handles were interfaced, corners boxed, and bag assembled pretty much like the assembly instructions for the library tote in “The Crafter’s Companion”. Best part – hand it over to Mum to iron into shape properly.
